As the year 2007 comes closer to ending it is time for my annual list of the year. I normally break it into months, but this year I decided to just write as it came to my mind, so here it is:
*I successfully made it through the year without any car accidents--well, if all goes well for the next week.
*I went to the following concerts(or at least these are the ones I can remember: Barbara Morrison--I sang in this one, Baka Beyond (in Berkeley), Dave Matthews Band (San Jose), Michael Franti and Spearhead (San Fransisco, Alma Melodiosa, Combo #5.... uhh...there are more, but I just cannot remember. There were a lot.
*I learned how to juggle balls, clubs, poi, scarves.
* I bought sport juggling balls (in april) and they have been with me nearly everywhere I go.
* I bought 7 of the best juggle clubs on the market--PX3's--and I love them!!!
* I went to school, and passed all my classes
(and am nearly done with 2 AA degrees and ready for transfer
).
* I fell in love for the first time (well, actually in 2006 but the relationship bloomed even more in 2007....) and had my heart broken more than it has ever felt.
*I ditched work for the first time ever to go see one of my favorite bands in concert--Michael Franti. It was well worth it. I spent the entire day at the 9th annual Power to the Peaceful rally/concert and saw amazing artists, juggled with some really awsome people, did yoga with well over 200 people and amazing instructors, and spent the day with a few of my closest friends and my lover (well, now my ex-lover, but yea...).
* I had my favorite teacher, Jim Toner, for 3 semesters in a row this year (4 including the fall of '06). In 2007 I had Shakespeare, Creative Writing, Advanced English Composition, British Literature, and Shakespeare 2 with him, and loved every moment of it! He is a great soul, and I love him dearly.
*I jumped off a rock into a swimming hole for the first time.
* I went to Gods Bath early in the season and still got in the water--it was beyond freezing.
* I got in a fight with my parents, moved out of the house, moved in with my (now ex) boyfriend, and bought a new cell phone plan within a matter of days from eachother.
* I played and sang several times with friends in a parking garage.
* I ate at my favorite resturaunt, and introduced several of my friends to the beauty of Indian food.
* I started bellydancing more seriously this year.
* I made my first costume by myself in a matter of days, and everyone loved it.
* I thought I was going to fail my first class this year, worked really hard at the last minute, and actually passed with a B.
*I officially owned my current car for 1 year, and still have made my car payments ontime.
* I decided that I never want to grow up.
* I saw several influential speakers that have made me work to learn about my culture, the environment, and the process of going green--and I have started.
* I wrote my first childrens book, illustrated it, and then burnt my only copy out of anger.
* I met a phenominal woman who turned 90 years old this year. She has severe dementia, and I have had the chance to take care of her. She lights my life up, and I miss her dearly (my ex-boyfriend is a live-in resident with her, so I don't think I will be seeing her anymore
). She was the inspiration for my childrens book, and I really wish I did not burn it due to a certain someone.
* I spoke spanish to a 4 year old in an airport. We were delayed in Las Vegas for 7 hours and I decided to juggle. She came over and I played with her, taught her to juggle, and we spoke spanish (she could not speak english). It was very lovely.
*I went to Iowa for the 5th time in a row this summer.
* I went to Oregon, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, & Minnesota this year.
* I got involved in Student Government, met a lot of awsome people through it, and worked really hard.
* I have finally been able to accept myself.
* In October it was my one year anniversary of starting to study Yoga (again).
* I have started working to get my Yoga teacher certification.
* I continued to work on my own personal clothing style, and started shopping at thrift stores more.
***This is just the start of my list, and I will add to it as the last days of this year continue to disappear.
Namaste.
